A Long Time Coming: A New Astro Image from the CaliforniaStars Observatory

It's been a long time coming but I've finally been able to take a bit of a more refined image with the new setup. The entire setup is still far from optimal, especially in the area of collimation. And, this is only a single 15-minute image with no darks or flats. Given all that, the system is showing great potential.

Three galaxies in the same field of view, collectively known as the Leo Triplet.
AG Optical 10" Newtonian Astrograph, Paramount ME II, FLI ML11002-C.
One 15-minute exposure. No dark, flat, or bias frames. Heavily cropped field of view.

  1. Awesome Daniel. A 15 min without flats or darks and that look so amazing. Can't wait to see what it really will do with complete post processing.....
